The Supermassive CMS is built to run on PHP 4 and PHP 5 for Apache/Linux servers with a single MySQL database as the back-end. While the Supermassive CMS strives to be as simple to install as administer as possible, some knowledge of FTP, PHP, MySQL, and PHPMyAdmin may be needed to get your website up and running.
Download the Supermassive CMS installation package from one of the following sources:
- No Download Provided (initial release in dev)
Extract the files from the download package to a folder of your choice, and then upload the entire contents of that folder to directory on your web server where you want the CMS to reside. If you want the CMS to reside in your home directory, upload your files to the "www" or "public_html" folder of your web server.
3. Run Setup
Once your files have uploaded, use a web browser to load the setup.php page at your web site. For instance, if you uploaded the files to your web root, you would load the file by going to http://yourdomain.com/setup.php. Of course, you would change the domain to your actual domain name.
The setup script will help you create your database and all the necessary folders the CMS will need. See Manual Installation Instructions
for help troubleshooting problems with the setup script (not yet available).
Once the database is built and the folders are installed, setup will then guide you to a page where you can create your administrative user account and customize information about your site. See Configuration Settings
documentation for additional help with this process (not yet available).
Once you have created your first user account you can then log-in to CMS by going to the log-in form and using your new username and password. Once you have logged in you will be taken to your user page and prompted to give additional details about yourself for your user account. You will also be prompted to "Add a Listing" to begin the process of creating your first document.
When you click on "Add a Listing" you will be taken to a page with a form to enter a new listing. You will need a title for your new listing, as well a short description. When you click "Add Listing" at the bottom of this page your new document will be created in the database. From here you will be taken to a page showing you how your listing will look, which will also let you edit the contents and settings for this document. For more information on how to edit listings, publish listings, upload images, change advanced settings, and more, please see our Listing Help
documentation (not yet available).
